The neonatatologist said that when they did ultra sound they did not see lung tissue and the liver was up. We need a miracle. Resting in the Lord's arms tonight.
Our little girl Esther Frances Holtrop was diagnosed with CDH when I was 21 weeks along. I gave birth to Esther at UW medicine April 12th, 2012. Esther's fight for her life began the moment she born. We had many moments we almost lost her. She was transported to Children's Hospital in Seattle and lived for 20 days, passing May 2, 2012. We are thankful for the story that God wrote in our lives and only hope that he gets all the glory in this.

Asking for more prayer tonight. Met with the Neonatologist in ICU tonight. We want you to know it will be a miracle in general for Esther to make it from UW medicine to childrens with how severe her CDH is. Pray for God to give Esther the strength and will power to fight. We were saddened by the news. Pray for rest for the both of us and to keep our eyes focused on the Lord.

Hi there. My name is Jess and almost 5 months ago I gave birth to my little Cherub, the same day she passed away. I don't really write to expectant parent's, I am not sure my story helps ease anything, but I wanted you to know you are in my thoughts and prayers as you prepare for Esther's birth.

Keeping you all in my prayers. God has a special plan for your sweet little girl. Being a parent of a CDH survivor I know first hand how scary of ride this can be. One thing I've learned is babies born with CDH are born to fight and at this point there is no way for them to know for sure how much lung tissue she has until she has her repair surgery. There is still hope as long as she has some the great news is a child's lungs continue to grow until their 8 yrs old. We were told many times that our son would most likely not survive and today he is a happy healthy four year old.

ReplyDeletePraying for Esther's birth. Hold onto hope. There is hope. Jesus loves you! When my son was born, I was told he was noncompatible with life and he would not survive. He is now a healthy, thriving 8 year old boy! God created your precious, sweet little girl. His plan is far greater than what we can hope or imagine. Hold onto hope! She is in the arms of the Healer! Love & Prayers from Barbara and Bryton
ReplyDeletePraying for you all, Holtrop family. Praying that Esther will be a feisty little fighter and will surprise everyone.

3 verses on my heart for you this morning...
ReplyDeletePsalm 46:1-3 "God is our refuge and strength,an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging."
Jeremiah 29:11-13 "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart."
1 Cor 13:13 "Three things will last forever--faith, hope, and love--and the greatest of these is love."
Sending you love and prayers from Oregon.

ReplyDeleteHi Jason and Rhonda (I work with Jason),
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to let you know I've been thinking of all three of you. I pray that God gives both of you the strength to deal with whatever Esther's outcome is. I pray she will have the fight and strength to get through this tough day. Lean on the Lord with all your heart and soul.

Sending you many prayers and hugs tonight. CDH babies surprise doctors ALL the time!! Made me think of this quote:
ReplyDeleteIf children have the ability to ignore all odds and percentages, then maybe we can all learn from them. When you think about it, what other choice is there but to hope? We have two options, medically and emotionally: give up, or fight like hell. ~Lance Armstrong
Dream of the day your little girl comes home, it helped get me through the CDH battle, and treasure each and every moment with your baby.
